The Equipe team has a passion and pedigree for planning reform. They have a long and successful track record of delivering numerous reform proposals, discussion papers and guidance documents for various government agencies. These projects have included:
Developing proposals and preparing a discussion paper to streamline residential development assessment in Victoria.
Reviewing built form controls in the planning system and developing reform proposals to improve their clarify and effectiveness.
Preparation of the Improving the operation of Rescode - a new model for assessment (November 2021) discussion paper.
Advising the Better Planning Approvals Project on new and more innovative ways to effect public notice.
Preparation of the new Writing Planning Permits guide.
Statutory drafting for numerous state planning scheme amendment proposals, including for VC148 (the largest structural reform of the Victoria Planning Provisions since their inception), Secondary Dwelling provision (Cl. 51.06) as part of VC186 and more recently the drafting of the transport planning reforms as part of VC200, which implemented state wide reforms to facilitate state transport projects.
Reviewing and developing proposals to improve the assessment of state significant extractive industry proposals.
Updating the Using Victoria’s Planning System, a key guide widely used the practitioners and the community on the Victorian Planning System.
Developing key sections of the Practitioner’s Guide to Victorian planning schemes.
Development of a new Subdivision Act User Guide.
Developing the VPP principles and numerous discussion papers as part of the Smart Planning Program with Tract consultants.
